Travellers urged to check in online for Finnair flights

Posted on: 30 March 2010

People planning to catch flights with Finnair during busy travel periods have been encouraged to make use of online and self-service check-in options.

Ahead of the Easter holiday season, the airline pointed out that security inspection areas and check-in desks can be "very busy" at airports and self-service options can make the travel experience much quicker and easier.

Travellers can check in online if they are catching flights to Helsinki from London Heathrow or Manchester airports with Finnair, as well as other European destinations such as Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels.

For domestic and international services departing from the Finnish capital, passengers can check themselves in at the automated kiosks located in Vantaa airport's second terminal.

Finnair Plus members also have the option of checking in by mobile phone on scheduled flights departing from London or Manchester.

Markku Remes, the airline's director of passenger experience development, said: "We recommend that passengers use Finnair's internet or text message check-in services or the self-service check-in kiosks at the airport. This can speeds things up significantly."
