Posted on: 26 July 2010

Thai Airways International (THAI) is aiming to enhance its' customers' experiences with the purchase of new aircraft.

The airline has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus to buy seven more A330-300s.

Commenting on the decision, made at the UK's Farnborough Air Show, Captain Montree Jumrieng said: "THAI has selected the A330-300 to meet our medium haul requirement.

"This will lead to improved efficiency as well as reducing the average age of our fleet.

"As our objective is to be a first choice airline, we would like to enhance our customer’s experience with new aircraft and the best service available on board."

The aircraft will be flying with the rest of the fleet by the end of 2011.

In addition, the new aircraft is expected to reduce carbon emissions.

According to Airbus' chief operating officer John Leahy, the A330 is the most efficient aircraft operating currently.

It is hugely popular, with more than 80 operators currently using the plane for their services.
