Oktoberfest to celebrate New York foliage season

People thinking of booking low cost flights to the US to celebrate Oktoberfest may wish to consider the Whiteface celebrations in Wilmington, New York.This will be celebrated at the height of New York's foliage season over the weekend of October 1st.
Aimed at a family audience, the festival includes arts and crafts activities, children's amusement rides as well as Bavarian food and drink.
Traditional German music will be provided by Die Schlauberger, Spitze, who promise audience involvement with cowbells and yodelling and The Alpen Trio, who will greet gondola passengers with alphorns at the summit of the Little Whiteface mountain.
Visitors driving the Veterans Memorial Highway along the mountain will be able to see panoramic views that stretch as far as Vermont and Canada.
The Schachtelgebirger Musikanten duo will also perform for their seventh Oktoberfest in the Cloudspin Lounge.
New York's tourism body recently launched an online Fall Foliage Report, which will document the region's colourful leaves throughout the period.
