New York City break visitors encouraged to walk

Posted on: 28 June 2011

City break visitors exploring the Big Apple this summer have been encouraged to shun the subway and cabs and discover the streets on foot.

Manhattan hotel nyma is promoting New York walks in partnership with non-profit organisation Big Apple Greeter, which is offering unique street tours for visitors.

Offering a real local's insight into the city, Big Apple Greeter tour guides can take active visitors on a walking tour of Fifth Avenue, Times Square and Central Park.

Shopaholics and culture vultures alike are catered for, while historic tours can also be arranged as well.

Guests at nyma can enjoy a central location and premium facilities, such as complimentary continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi and fresh coffee served throughout the day, while children under 12 can stay for free.

Those looking to explore New York this summer can catch flights from a range of airlines, including Delta, British Airways and Continental Airlines.
