New Reykjavik concert hall due to open

City break visitors flying into the Icelandic capital from tomorrow (May 4th) onwards will be able to take in a concert or just enjoy the architecture of Harpa.The new concert hall is capable of playing host to a variety of simultaneous events, as well as offering restaurants, shops and a bar overlooking Reykjavik harbour and the surrounding mountains.
Bookings for the opening month of shows have already been encouraging after the New York Times deemed the new 1,800-capacity venue to be a "must-see" for 2011.
Major international acts booked to play at the Harpa concert hall this year include British jazz impresario Jamie Cullum and legendary songwriter Elvis Costello.
Harpa claims to have the most technologically advanced sound and staging systems to make these events all the more memorable.
Brits looking to book flights to Reykjavik can choose direct services from regional operators Icelandair and Iceland Express, as well as indirect services from bmi and Lufthansa.
