Mobile check-in launched by Malev
Posted on: 05 December 2011
Customers who regularly book flights with Malev will now be able to check in using their mobile phone. The carrier has started allowing passengers to use this flexible option in addition to its existing three methods - desk, kiosk and online.
Customers of Malev now have the full range of options available within the industry and the environmental benefits offered by reducing paper usage were noted as an additional benefit of this option.
To use the service, an internet-functional phone is required to access the airline's website.
After this, the traveller's name and ticket number or reservation code are entered, at which point the user will be able to select their seat and request a boarding code via text message or email.
Malev is not the first carrier to use mobile devices to improve its services, as earlier this year United Airlines announced its replacement of paper flight manuals and navigational charts with an iPad app.
