KLM participates in airline co-location scheme
Posted on: 20 December 2011
Travellers who regularly book cheap flights with KLM could benefit from a new scheme that has seen the carrier participate in a co-location check-in facility.Situated at Beijing Capital Airport, the firm is brought under the SkyTeam banner together with other carriers such as Air France, Alitalia and Delta at an area in Terminal 2.
It is hoped efficiency will be improved as a result of the venture in addition to further enhanced customer benefits.
Currently, 50 check-in desks are at the site, with a further ten self-service kiosks to be made available by the end of the year.
"The co-location of SkyTeam carriers worldwide is an integral part of our strategy as it offers tangible benefits to both our customers and our members," said the group's vice-president of airport services Gordon Humpherys.
Emirates also announced an airport-based expansion to customer service recently, with a Baggage Delivery scheme sending luggage after a tourist anywhere in the United Arab Emirates for a nominal fee.
