Gold Coast offers 'contrasting landscapes'

Car hire may be a necessity for holidaymakers who wish to make the most of everything Australia's Gold Coast has to offer.

This is because, according to chief executive officer at Gold Coast Tourism Martin Winter, the destination offers contrasting landscapes along 70 kilometres of coastline.

He explained the natural beauty of this area makes the designated local tours a "must-do" for any visitor.

Individuals who wish to map their own itinerary would also find plenty to explore, Mr Winter added, as the coast stretches from the Southport Spit to the state border town of Kingscliff.

"Venture throughout the length and breadth of the Gold Coast hinterland to gain a further appreciation of local hospitality. Visitors are guaranteed to provide themselves holiday memories to last a lifetime," he commented.

Travel writer for WhyGo Australia Brooke Schoenman recently suggested the location is an ideal one for families as it is home to a variety of theme parks and water rides.
