Flights to Melbourne, Florida launched by US Airways

US Airways has introduced cheap flights to Florida's Space Coast from its base at Charlotte, North Carolina.Year-round services to Melbourne International Airport, which is located close to Orlando, have commenced using 70-seat Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft.
Jason Reisinger, US Airways' director of express planning, said he is "thrilled" that flights to Orlando Melbourne International Airport have begun.
"US Airways now offers Melbourne customers easy one-stop connections to hundreds of destinations and, conversely, offers the rest of the nation easy travel to the Sunshine State's Space Coast," he commented.
Such is the immediate popularity of the route that seats on the first week of flights have all been sold out
The airline operates flights to 15 destinations in Florida, with the latest route's introduction expected to provide a significant boost to the state's economy.
In December, US Airways launched flights to Honolulu from Charlotte, with Hawaii among the most popular holiday destinations for Americans.
Flights to Paris and Rio de Janeiro were also introduced by the carrier from its Charlotte hub during 2009.
