Finnair has revealed that it plans to develop its network of flights in Asia over the coming years. The airline published its growth strategy for the next decade and stated that it intends to become one of the three largest providers of services between Europe and Asia.
Improved flight connections, cost-competitiveness and the growth of the aviation market in the Far East will be the "cornerstones" of Finnair's growth strategy, the company said.
Finnair also revealed that it hopes to become the leading airline in Finland and other Nordic countries.
President and chief executive Mika Vehvilainen said: "For us, number one in the Nordic countries means that we fly more and more profitably than others and we are the best in terms of quality."
One of Finnair's main target markets over the coming years will be business passengers catching flights between Europe and Asia.
"All customers are important to us. Our primary target group, however, is the business passenger travelling between Asia and Europe, irrespective of travel class," Mr Vehvilainen said.
Travellers can currently catch flights to Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beijing and other Asian cities with Finnair.
