Finnair offering new business class product

Posted on: 23 December 2009

Travellers taking business class flights with Finnair in the future could experience one of the airline's latest offerings.

Over the past year, the airline has received five new Airbus A330s, the most recent of which has been equipped with a new business class product.

The seat reclines to a fully horizontal position and is part of a layout designed to offer more privacy for passengers.

Markku Remes, the airline's customer experience development manager, said: "The seats have been arranged so that nearly 90 per cent of passengers have direct access to an aisle.

"The cabin also has more storage space for hand baggage and clothing."

Christer Haglund, senior vice-president of communications for Finnair, said the new aircraft will prove useful following a recent increase in demand for business class flights between Europe and Asia.

Travellers will be able to experience the new offering on the carrier's flights to New York, Delhi, Seoul and Nagoya.

The new Airbus A330s are also part of a fleet modernisation programme that is expected to reduce Finnair's carbon emissions.
