Experts: Air Baltic to get a boost

Industry insiders have said that popular low-cost carrier Air Baltic is to get a boost in passenger numbers thanks to the decline of Air Estonia.Marge Tubalkain-Trell, writing in Balkan Business News said that as Air Estonia cut out its direct flights to many major European cities, Air Baltic was picking up some of the slack by running connecting flights from Estonia to its Lativian hub, Riga.

Janis Vanags, vice president of Air Baltic, said: "This is a unique opportunity for Estonians.
He added: "We have added flights from Riga to Brussels, Dusseldorf, Rome, Istanbul, Kaliningrad and Munich, to name a few."
Both Riga and Tallinn have become popular destinations for UK tourists on city breaks in recent years.
Earlier this month Bradt Travel announced that it was publishing a new travel guide to the Baltic capitals, which could make city breaks to Tallinn even easier.
