Low-cost European carrier Cyprus Airways has announced the latest addition to its fleet - an Airbus A319 that the airline has christened Larnaca. The aircraft, which is a mere two and a half-years-old, has been leased from the US-based International Lease Finance Corporation for an initial period of two years, according to FinancialMirror.com.
A Cyprus Airways spokesman said: "The agreement is expected to give Cyprus Airways an important commercial advantage and economic benefit."
The new airbus will be equipped to carry 126 passengers, with space for a further 12 travellers to fly Cyprus Airways' Apollo business class.
This latest addition to the low-cost airline's fleet is named after the southern Cypriot town of Larnaca, a popular destination for UK tourists.
Larnaca - the airplane, not the town - will now join the Cyprus Airline's fleet in offering discounted flights to destinations throughout Europe and the Middle East.
