Individuals who wish to books flights to Sydney and other Australasian destinations may benefit from improved connectivity services unveiled by Emirates.

A new Dublin route has been launched, which is expected to open a new channel to the south-east Asian region, including Thailand, China and the Philippines.

Ireland's minister for transport, tourism and sport Leo Varadkar welcomed the development, noting visitor arrivals to and from the country will be improved as a result.

The Ireland service was launched in September 2011 with a high profile gala, which included a surprise performance from Lionel Ritchie.

Mr Varadkar stated: "The inauguration of this new daily service between Dubai and Dublin is a huge boost for Irish tourism, business and aviation."

Dublin was recently described as featuring world-class architecture by publicity manager at Tourism Ireland John Lahiffe, with the majority of the city being Georgian, interspersed with elements of modern design among the historic buildings.
