Posted on: 21 May 2010

People taking city breaks in Dublin next month will be treated to some memorable entertainment when the Irish capital hosts the Docklands Maritime Festival.

This celebration of all things nautical will come to the north and south quays of the river Liffey from June 4th to 7th.

Visitors of all ages will be interested in some of the impressive sights on offer during the festival, such as the tall ships Jeanie Johnston, Artemis and Bessie Ellen, as well as the Irish naval vessel LE Aoife.

Live entertainment offerings will include performances by the Gypsy Jazz Quartet and the Swinging Blue Cats, while theatre companies will present outdoor productions.

A record 150,000 locals and travellers taking Dublin city breaks visited the Docklands Maritime Festival in 2009, with just as many people expected to attend the event this year.

Several carriers operate flights to Dublin, such as Aer Lingus, Air France and bmi.
