Brits still taking holidays, says survey

A recent poll has revealed that the credit crunch has not adversely affected many Brits' intention to take a holiday this year. The survey, conducted by Tesco Personal Finance, revealed that more than half of people in the UK (54 per cent) are planning on taking a holiday abroad this year and 29 per cent will be jetting off at least twice.
However, Brits' holiday spending patterns have been moderated somewhat, with 34 per cent claiming they are planning to spend less on their holidays this year than previously, perhaps by booking cheap flights.
A Tesco Travel Money spokesperson said: "It's great to see that holidaymakers are pulling out the stops to get value for money and making sacrifices to ensure they get their two weeks in the sun."
Cheap flights to beach holiday destinations are offered by a range of airlines, including Flybe, Air Europa and Iberia, the national flag-carrier of Spain.
