Bmi to offer extra flights to Vienna
Posted on: 19 January 2010
There will be some new travel options on offer to Brits this year when bmi launches additional flights to Vienna. The carrier will operate a service to the Austrian capital from London Heathrow from March 28th in conjunction with Austrian Airlines, its Star Alliance partner.
Passengers will be able to choose from five daily flights between Heathrow and Vienna, more than with any other operator on the route.
It was also announced that bmi will be revamping its product offering in the UK and Ireland from January 27th, with the business class cabin being removed from all flights and flexible fares introduced within economy class.
Dominic Paul, managing director of the airline, said the change is a response to customer feedback and recent changes in the aviation market.
He added: "Customers travelling on our higher fares value business lounges, a seat at the front of the aircraft and complimentary food and drink but most no longer have business class travel policies for short flight travel.
"We have created a new service which delivers these important benefits, but on an all-economy aircraft, so they also benefit from a lower level of air passenger duty."
