BMI 'winning on punctuality'
Posted on: 26 March 2008
The 2007 Scheduled Airline Punctuality Results have yielded strong results for BMI British Midland, cementing the carrier's reputation for good customer service.Serving several domestic routes, the Key Routes section of the awards found BMI to be the most punctual scheduled airline flying between London and Edinburgh, London and Manchester, and London and Aberdeen.
London-Edinburgh is the busiest UK domestic route, and BMI posted average delays of around 12 minutes, just over half the average delay for rival British Airways flights from Heathrow to the Scottish capital.
For the London-Aberdeen route, the airline recorded average delays of only 11 minutes, a full five minutes shorter than its nearer rival, making BMI flights between England and Scotland a highly efficient option.
Conducted by FlightsOnTime.info, the annual awards also highlighted the success of BMI subsidiary BMI Regional, which was handed the overall scheduled timekeeping award for the third year running.
Runner-up position in this category went to Eastern Airways, also for the third consecutive time.
