Austrian increases capacity on cheap flights to Dubai

Austrian Airlines has announced that it will increase the number of seats it offers on its cheap flights to Dubai, as the route has become one of its most popular.

The airline announced that from March 1st this year it will be using a larger Boeing 767 aircraft to carry passengers jetting off on city breaks to Dubai, meaning that it can carry around 20 per cent more passengers on the route.

To mark the increase, Austrian is offering a sale on seats on the new aircraft, meaning that its cheap flights to Dubai will become even cheaper between March 1st and June 30th.

In a statement, Austrian claimed that compromising on price would not mean compromising on quality.

The airline said: "For passengers the introduction of the Boeing 767 doesn't just mean more supply, it also means a significantly higher level of comfort.

"In the Economy cabin a wide range of elements makes the journey especially comfortable; from a tilting reading lamp and extra-wide television screen to a built-in massage function in the seat."

Austrian is riding a tourist trend which has seen city breaks to Dubai become increasingly popular among UK tourists in recent years.

The emirate offers almost unparalleled shopping opportunities, including the world's largest mall, as well as sandy beaches and warm seas.
