Austrian Airlines tops punctuality charts

Tourists who want to arrive on time may be interested to know that Austrian Airlines is officially Europe's most punctual long-haul airline.According to data released by the Association of European Airlines recently, 86.5 per cent of Austrian's long-haul flights arrived on time last year. Overall, the airline came second, with a punctuality rating of 84.4 per cent.
The airline said that the efficiency of its operations at Vienna Airport had helped it carry so many holidaymakers and businessmen to their beaches and hotels on time.
Dr Peter Malanik, a member of the airline's board, said: "Arriving on time doesn't just make travel a more enjoyable experience which can be efficiently planned into the working day. It is also hugely important both to business travellers."
Austrian Airlines provides cheap flights from London to a variety of destinations worldwide, including Dubai, Bangkok, Tel Aviv, Kiev and Delhi.
