Art exhibitions announced in New York

Art lovers who wish to book cheap flights to New York may wish to organise car hire and travel further afield in order to experience some unique offerings in the state.

A solo exhibition entitled Marco Maggi: Lentissimo has been unveiled at the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Centre in Poughkeepsie and will run from January 20th to April 1st.

On offer will be 14 new works from the artist, themed around the Italian word for slow - Lentissimo - from which the display takes its name.

Viewers are invited for quiet and detailed observation of the works, which are said to explore the artist's relationship to time.

Alternatively, the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra will be performing at the Performing Arts Centre in Purchase on January 22nd, when the respected group will play Brahms; Violin Concerto in D Major.

A wide range of such offerings are a regular feature in the state, with the Museum of the City of New York recently hosting an exhibition of photography commemorating the events of September 11th 2001.
