Adria Airways 'set to turn a profit for 2008'
Posted on: 23 December 2008
While some commentators are predicting doom and gloom for the airline industry, Adria Airways appears to be going from strength to strength and has recently predicted that it will turn a profit for 2008.STA, a Slovenian news agency, reported that the Slovenian national flag carrier is predicting operating profits of 1.9 billion euros for 2008.
While the figure is slightly lower than in 2007, thanks to the rises in the price of jet fuel this year, the profits have been helped by the increasing popularity of the fast developing airline.
Adria Airways has seen a 17 per cent increase in the number of passengers carried since last year, which may be a reflection on the level of service offered by the carrier.
Based in Ljubljana airport in the Slovenian capital, Adria Airways offers low cost flights to 25 European cities, including Amsterdam, Istanbul, Moscow and Zurich.
