Lufthansa
offers direct flights to Germany from a large selection of British
airports, including London Heathrow, London Gatwick, plus Manchester,
Birmingham, Glasgow and Newcastle airports.
The airline
has an extremely wide flight network and as well as being able to
offer direct flights from the UK to German cities such as Frankfurt,
Dusseldorf, Cologne and Hamburg, Lufthansa can offer convenient
connections to destinations that are further afield, serving airports
in North America, Central and South America, Africa, the Middle
East, Asia and eastern, western and central Europe.
A
range of domestic flights throughout Germany is also operated by
Lufthansa.
With regular cheap flights and discounted airfares
on offer, make sure you book your ticket through Major Travel for
the best choice of flights available to suit every budget.
Lufthansa
is a member of the prestigious Star Alliance, along with other well-known
carriers such as Air Canada, Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines,
which opens up a wider route network of 842 airports in 152 countries
to its passengers.
Being a member of the Star Alliance
also means that if you are a member of Lufthansa's loyalty card
scheme, Miles and More, you have the option of earning and spending
rewards on flights with any of its alliance partner airlines.
Miles
and More presents customers with a great opportunity to get a little
back from their airfares, and reward points can be spent on a range
of treats, such as bonus flights, gifts from the Lufthansa shop,
or car rental. Changes to the loyalty programme means that rewards
can now be redeemed on children's tickets, as well as one-way flights.
Lufthansa can trace its roots back to an airline which was created
in 1926, giving it a long history of offering convenient flights
and great customer service. Over the years, the airline has been
recognised many times for its quality flights and was recently voted
the best airline on European routes by German business magazine,
Capital.
In January it also received six Business Traveller
Awards from Business Traveller Germany magazine for its great services.
On board a Lufthansa flight, customers can look forward to flying
in comfort, with a great selection of entertainment available to
keep them occupied throughout the flight. Passengers flying with
business or first class can enjoy entertainment on demand, while
economy class passengers can choose between 24 radio programmes
and watch the latest films in up to four languages.
A
delicious choice of meals is also available on board, depending
on your flight length, flight class and destination.
Lufthansa
Group operates its flights with a very large and modern fleet of
429 aircraft, ranging from large Boeing 747-400 jumbo jets which
seat more than 400 passengers, to small CRJ-100 and 200 aeroplanes,
which seat only 50 people.
The average age of Lufthansa
aircraft is just 10.9 years, making it a considerably younger fleet
than the world average.
First
Class
Exclusive
down to the last detail – the First Class meets in not-so-mini
form what you would expect of a living room, bedroom and office.
With the seats, you can create your own private area of generous
dimensions. The sleeper seat with adjustable head and shoulder
rests, as well as diverse places to put your things, is child's
play to turn into a bed two meters-long. That's a generous 6 feet
6 inches! Whether you want a living room, a bedroom,
an office or a cinema – the First Class fulfills your every wish.
The seats in the First Class area on the upper deck of our Boeing
747 fleet have a comfortable distance of 228-234 cm (90-92 inches)
from other seats. Thanks to its seat configuration,
our First Class aboard the Airbus A340 offers every passenger
an aisle seat with a between-seats distance of 216 cm (85 inches).

European Business Class - Business Class - More Space, More Privacy, More Comfort
Having commenced with the 2004 summer flight timetable, Lufthansa will keep the middle seats empty in Business Class on national and European routes. Only window and aisle seats will be offered.
For you this means – more privacy!
Up to 50% more space for confidential work, uninterrupted reading or sorting your documents.
In short: More space, more storage room. More Business Class.
High-quality leather seats in elegant tones of grey, a blue carpet and newly designed privacy walls give the whole cabin a modern flair. Flying will be more attractive and more comfortable. New seats, designed with a more narrowly constructed back, offer more leg room so you can really stretch out your legs. The seats perfectly fit the contours of your back, giving you total comfort. The coat hook is now practically placed on the side so it can be used even when the table is down.
