Iberia operates flights to around
100 destinations, as well as 80 additional destinations through code-sharing
agreements with other airlines.
Its route network covers
flights to Spain, western Europe and Latin America, plus destinations
in Africa and the near east.
With regular flights from London
Heathrow airport, Iberia customers can choose flights to exciting
places such as Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Lima, Cairo and Johannesburg,
via Spain.

The market leader on routes
between Europe and Latin America, Iberia boasts the largest number
of destinations and non-stop flights to and from the Americas.
Iberia
was Spain's first airline and the first to operate flights between
Europe and South America, as well as the first to offer an international
frequent flyers customer loyalty programme, allowing customers to
get more from their airfare.
Iberia recently began direct
flights to Cancun due to a code sharing agreement with the Iberworld
company.
Based at Barajas International Airport in Madrid,
Iberia has been in business since 1927, since which time more than
600 million people have been carried on Iberia flights.
Iberia
is the only European airline to have reported profits for the last
ten years and in 2005 carried 27.7 million passengers on its flights
with a net profit earned of €395.8 million.
Iberia boasts
one of the most punctual scheduled airlines in Europe, with 83 per
cent of its flights leaving on time in the past two years, as well
as some great value airfares.
It also has one of Europe's
most modern fleets. Iberia says that its 219-aircraft fleet is quieter,
more environmentally friendly and equipped with the latest technology.
The newest aircraft type in its fleet is the Airbus A340-600, which
is used on Iberia's intercontinental flights.
Customers
in Business Plus class can even use state-of-the-art communication
systems to send SMS and email messages during the flight as well as
enjoying 17 interactive video and 12 audio channels.
The
airline has taken on the concept of electronic tickets in a big way,
with 93 per cent of all Iberia tickets issues in January 2006 issued
in the form of paperless e-tickets.
Automatic check-in machines
have also been installed by Iberia in many European airports including
London Heathrow. These are ideal for passengers who are only flying
with hand luggage and can save time and avoid airport queues before
the flight.
In addition to passenger and freight transport,
Iberia conducts maintenance for its own fleet and the fleets of more
than 50 other airlines and is active in aircraft and passenger handling
services in all Spanish airports.

family is regional airline Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum, which was
named Carrier of the Year by the European Regional Airline Association
