| Founded in 1981, Air
Europa offers convenient connections combined with a high-quality
service and operates a modern fleet comprising of 32 next generation
Boeing aircraft and an Airbus A340 aeroplane. In 1993 it became the first private company in Spain to operate domestic flights, thus challenging flag bearer Iberia's monopoly and proving itself as a leader in air travel. In 2002, Air Europa implemented wing-lets technology on its B737-800 aircraft, which reduces both fuel consumption and pollution significantly.
